PORTLAND, Ore. — The Montana State Billings baseball team swept the GNAC Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week honors.

The Yellowjackets took a 3-1 series from Northwest Nazarene on the road.

Senior Conner Linebarger was selected the player of the week while pitching honors when to freshman Dylan Barkley.

Linebarger, of Bozeman, batted 10 of 17 (.588) and got on base 13 times in 20 plate appearances. He had two doubles and a home run and scored eight runs while driving in three.

In the opening game, Linebarger tied the MSUB single-game record for hits by going 5 for 5. He also drew a walk and was hit twice during the series and did not strike out in any of his 20 at-bats.

Linebarger also also made eight plays at second base without an error.

Barkley, a freshman from Missoula, pitched six shutout innings in game two of the series for his first collegiate victory. He struck out eight and walked two and allowed just four hits on 95 pitches.
