The Montana State Billings women's soccer team opens Great Northwest Athletic Conference play Thursday with a match that could have a big impact at the end of the season.

The Yelllowjackets (4-0) host three-time defending league champion Seattle Pacific (3-1) at 3:30 p.m. at Yellowjacket Field.

MSUB is ranked sixth in the latest NSCAA West Region poll, while the Falcons are seventh.

The balanced Yellowjackets feature three players with two goals apiece this season: Katlyn Lokay, Jennifer Larsen and Alyssa Sagdahl. Freshmen Aiko Johnson has been stellar in the net, allowing just one goal in four starts. She has posted three shutouts this season.

The Yellowjackets opened their 2012 season with a 1-0 win over No. 5-ranked Colorado Mines.

SPU is led by Ali Martin and Heather Young, each with two goals.

MSUB will continue league play Saturday with a 3:30 p.m. match against Central Washington.

 The Yellowjacket men begin GNAC play Thursday at 12-ranked Simon Fraser University and will play at Western Washington Saturday.
