MONMOUTH, Ore. -- Tanner Rottrup goes for the season sweep in the shot put at this weekend Great Northwest Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships.
Rottrup, a senior from Billings, is the No. 2 seed in the men's shot put behind Sam Washington of Saint Martin's. Rottrup won the GNAC indoor shot put title earlier this year. He is just .07 meters from an NCAA Division II national qualifying mark.
Yellowjacket sophomore Rory Bauer has the second-fastest time in the 200, while Tyson Vanerby is seeded fifth in the 1,500-meter run. He is just .53 off the NCAA provisional mark.
The meet, hosted by Western Oregon, concludes on Saturday.
