LARAMIE, Wyo. — The University of Wyoming men’s basketball team has accepted an invitation to play in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI) tournament for the third straight year.

The Cowboys will face Texas A&M on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Mountain time at Reed Arena in College Station, Texas.

“We always look at a postseason invitation as a product of growth for this program,” said UW coach Larry Shyatt. “These Cowboys and, in particular our two seniors Nathan (Sobey) and Jerron (Granberry), deserve another opportunity to continue and play for a championship.”

Wyoming (18-14) is making its fourth appearance overall in the 16-team CBI. The Cowboys lost to Northeastern in the opening round in 2009 and reached the quarterfinals each of the last two seasons.

Texas A&M is 17-15 on the season.
