“It’s always difficult to end the season,” said Wyoming coach Joe Legerski in a UW press release. “Sometimes you have to reflect on what happened throughout the year. I know there’s a number of disappointed players in that locker room. The biggest thing they have to remember is the journey we all went on to go 25-9. This team ends up with the second most wins in the 45 years of Cowgirl basketball.”
Wyoming converted on 31.4 percent of its field goals, while Arizona had a field goal percentage of 47.2.
The Cowgirls' 25 wins tie for the second most in program history. Wyoming also played in the program's first-ever Mountain West championship game. It was the third season in a row Wyoming recorded 20-plus wins. In addition, 13 conference victories tied the program record.
