LARAMIE, Wyo. — Marta Gomez scored 17 points Wednesday night to help Wyoming defeat Utah State 53-35 in Mountain West women's basketball at Arena-Auditorium.

The Cowgirls held a small lead after the third quarter but outscored Utah State by 12 points in the fourth to pull away. Wyoming improved to 15-5 overall and 8-3 in the MW.

Bailee Cotton added nine points for the Cowgirls, while Sladjana Rakovic scored seven points and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds. Gomez went 10 for 10 from the foul line.

Hailey Bassett led the Aggies with 14 points. Utah State (10-13, 5-7) missed all eight of its 3-point attempts.
