LARAMIE, Wyo. — The Wyoming women’s basketball team will play its first of a two-game homestand on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. against San Jose State.
The Cowgirls (13-3, 5-0) last recorded a 72-59 victory over Nevada Saturday in Reno. It’s the first time since the 2007-08 season that the Cowgirls have opened up league play 5-0 and the 13-3 mark equals the best start since the 2012-13 season. Junior Natalie Baker finished with her second double-double of the week with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while junior Liv Roberts of Missoula led the way with 17 points and 11 boards for her fourth double-double of the year. Senior Hailey Ligocki finished her night with 14 points followed by sophomore Marta Gomez with 13 points off the bench.
San Jose State enters the contest with a 6-11 overall record and a 3-2 mark in league play. Last time out, the Spartans defeated Air Force 86-74. Senior Dezz Ramos leads the way averaging 22.4 points, plus 2.4 rebounds.
