DES MOINES, Iowa -- The University of Wyoming had two wrestlers earn All-America honors in senior Alfonso Hernandez and redshirt sophomore Tyler Cox at the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships on Saturday.

Hernandez finished seventh at 197 and Cox placed eighth at 125.

Hernandez walked off the mat for the final time in his collegiate career as a winner, defeating Oklahoma State's Blake Rosholt 7-4. It is his second All-American season, placing sixth in 2012. Hernandez finishes the season 34-3.

Cox suffered a pin in 1:17 by Minnesota's David Thorn in his medal match. The former four-time state champion from Gillette, Wyo., finished his season 35-11. It is the first time he has placed in the top eight at nationals.

For the third-straight season, Wyoming finished with two All-Americans. UW now has had eight All-America performances in coach Mark Branch’s five seasons, and a total of 31 in program history.

Wyoming ended the tourney in 23rd place with 20.5 points. It is the 17th time in school history that the Cowboys concluded in the top 25.
