LARAMIE -- The University of Wyoming track and field team announced the signing of Powell's Kyle Sullivan on Thursday.
"We are very excited to have Kyle stay in the state and become a Cowboy," UW assistant coach Quincy Howe said in a release. "He has had an excellent high school career, which includes two state 3A titles in the high jump, as well as a fifth-place finish at the prestigious Simplot Games in the 60-meter hurdles."
Sullivan is projected to be a decathlete. In addition to being a two-time state high jump champion, Sullivan also added runner-up finishes in both hurdle events at last year's state meet and ran a leg on the Panthers' state championship 1,600 meters relay team.
"Kyle has also shown a lot of versatility during his high school career, including duty at the 300-meter hurdles, as well as the [1,600]-meter relay," Howe said. "He is a strong, big athlete and we project him to be a key contributor in the heptathlon and decathlon, as well as the high jump and hurdles."
