Casey Bigelow of Billings Skyview has signed a letter of intent with the football program at Rocky Mountain College.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Bigelow will likely play outside linebacker or safety for the Battlin’ Bears, said Rocky head coach Brian Armstrong. As a senior for the Falcons, he played outside linebacker and tailback.
Armstrong singled out Bigelow for possessing “way above average work ethic. He’s a hard worker. He’s a great student. He’s kind of exactly what we’re looking for. He’s an awesome kid.”
Skyview compiled an 8-4 record last fall and advanced to the semifinals of the state AA playoffs.
Bigelow, an honorable mention all-state running back, rushed 93 times for 543 yards and seven touchdowns. He also caught 12 passes for 55 yards.
The Bears have also signed 6-0, 190-pound cornerback Isaac McCreery of Buhl, Idaho; 5-11, 180-pound defensive back Trevor Coltrin of Rocky Mountain High in Meridian, Idaho; 6-4, 280-pound offensive lineman Kyle Breschini of Spring Creek, Nev.; and 5-10, 170-pound safety Jesse Nile of Forsyth.
“Kyle is a guy that we’ve seen for the last two summers at our Big Man Camp,” Armstrong said of Breschini. “Every summer that he’s come back he’s been bigger, stronger and better.”
Rocky has now announced the signing of 41 new players for the 2010 season.
