The Atlanta Falcons placed former Montana defensive back Shann Schillinger on the injured reserve list on Friday as the team cut its roster down to the 53-player limit.
Putting Schillinger on injured reserve means he’s out for the season.
Schillinger, a Baker native and sixth-round draft pick by the Falcons in 2010, suffered a foot injury in practice Aug. 23. He finished third on the team with 11 special-teams tackles last season.
Also on Friday, the Minnesota Vikings waived former Griz running back Lex Hilliard, who had signed with the team as a free agent in the offseason after four seasons with the Miami Dolphins. The Kalispell native had been considered to have the inside track for the Vikings’ third running back spot early in training camp but the team chose to keep Matt Asiata instead.
On Saturday, ex-Griz Colt Anderson was activated from the physically unable to perform list by the Philadelphia Eagles. Also on Saturday, the St. Louis Rams added Chase Reynolds back to their practice squad. The team had cut Reynolds in final cutdowns on Friday.
