Mike Grob has advanced to the second stage of the 2011 PGA Tour qualifying school.
The 46-year-old Billings golfer will be playing at Redstone Golf Club in Humble, Texas, Nov. 16-19. The top players there will move on to the final stage — a 108-hole event Dec. 1-6 at Orange County National Golf Center & Lodge in Winter Gardens, Fla.
Grob advanced by shooting a 12-under-par 276 (70-68-71-67) and finishing in a tie for 11th at a first-stage tournament late last month at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in McKinney, Texas.
A former PGA Tour member, Grob is a current player on the Canadian Tour, where he is the all-time leading money winner.
Grob is in California this week to play in the Canadian Tour’s $150,000 Desert Dunes Classic, which begins today in Desert Hot Springs.
