DICKINSON, N.D. - Dickinson State's Jennifer Hartman, a right-side hitter from Miles City, has been named the Freshman of the Year for volleyball in the Dakota Athletic Conference.
The 6-foot Hartman was second on the Blue Hawks in kills per game (2.1) and was also among the team leaders in blocks and digs.
"We are extremely proud of Jennifer. She truly deserves this award," said DSU coach Ryan Platt. "She developed extremely fast this season, especially considering she played middle blocker in high school and had to make the transition to outside hitter.
"We were planning to redshirt Jennifer this season until Judith Boel went down with an injury two weeks into the season. Jennifer took full advantage of her opportunity to play and had an amazing season."
