Jim Wilsey, who guided Colstrip to the 2000 Class A boys basketball championship, was hired on Thursday as the head boys basketball coach at Billings Senior.
Wilsey replaces Jim Stergar, who resigned last month after nine seasons.
Wilsey has been the freshman boys coach at Senior for the past two seasons. Prior to that, Wilsey was a coach in Colstrip for 15 years, including two seasons as head boys coach from 1999-2001. He was the head boys coach at Huntley Project for one year (2007-08) and was a volunteer assistant at Billings Skyview for one year (2008-09).
Wilsey, 50, is a 1979 grad of Billings West.
"This is a great opportunity for me and I have a lot of people to thank for it," Wilsey said. "Jim Stergar did a great job with this program and is leaving a very good team behind.
"I've been blessed in my coaching career to work under some great coaches, and hopefully that will mean great things for me at Senior."
