Hailey Ligocki's game-high 20 points and a fast start carried Sheridan, Wyo., past Billings Senior, 50-42, Friday night in girls basketball.

Sheridan led 15-4 at the end of the first quarter and 21-13 by halftime.

"The first quarter we got off to a slow start,'' said Senior coach Doug Brakke. "After that, we battled hard. It was tough to overcome the lead they got at the start.

"Every time we'd chip away, they had a nice offensive play. They are a nice team and played well."

Ligocki was 8 of 15 from the field and added three free throws.

Rachel Koehler paced the Lady Broncs with 15 points, while Elayna Rice had 11 points and seven rebounds.
