Approximately 630 varsity and junior varsity runners are scheduled to participate in the Billings Invitational cross country meet set for Saturday at Riverfront Park.
The meet begins with the JV boys at noon, followed by the varsity boys at 12:30 p.m. The JV girls are set for 12:55 p.m. and the varsity girls at 1:25 p.m. Start times are approximations and depend on the finish time of previous races.
Teams entered are the four Billings high schools, Great Falls CMR, Great Falls, Huntley Project, Columbus, Powell (Wyo.), St. Labre, Hardin, Sheridan (Wyo.), Winnett, Northern Cheyenne, Lander (Wyo.), Big Timber, Laurel, Colstrip, Livingston, Joliet, Sidney, Miles City and Red Lodge.
At the season-opening Billings Invite at the three-mile Riverfront course, Billings West's Rachel Jones and Laurel's Tyler Mogan were the winners. West swept all four team races.
Last weekend at the Lewistown Invitational, the Hardin boys and Billings Skyview girls won team titles with Skyview's Kennedy Robbins winning the girls race. Skyview placed second as a team in the boys competition.
At last weekend's Great Falls meet, Bozeman swept the boys and girls races. The Senior girls were second and West girls third. The West boys finished third and Senior boys sixth. Bozeman is in Butte Saturday.
