ANACONDA -- Belgrade's boys and Polson's girls topped the team standings Friday after the opening round of the State A golf tournament at Old Works Golf Course.

Belgrade leads by one stroke over Whitefish, 322-323, heading into today's closing 18-hole round. Miles City is third at 333 and Sidney fourth at 339.

The reigning champion Polson girls are 28 strokes ahead of Laurel, 356-384, after the opening day. Whitefish is third at 396 and Livingston fourth at 409.

On the boys side, Sidney's Paul Brannan and Bobby Frank are tied for medalist honors at 2-over 74. Art Doorn of Whitefish is one stroke back at 75.

For the girls, Jaylin Kenney of Polson is leading the way at 80. Livingston's Christal Tokash is sitting second at 82, followed by Carlee Hart of Laurel and Erin Tabish of Whitefish at 84.
