Try 1 month for $5

BILLINGS — Billings West and Billings United Soccer Club goalkeeper Ashlyn Dvorak has been selected to the National Olympic Development Program Training Camp to be held later this month.

While at the training camp, Dvorak, a freshman at West, will have the opportunity to work with U.S. Women’s National Team staff coaches. The coaches will put campers into small-sided matches, work on their tactical training, and help prepare the players for the next level, United executive director Kyle Bakas said.

Dvorak received the invitation after first attending a regional camp in Fort Collins last July. Following the regional camp, Dvorak was selected to the Regional Pool, which is the top 36 players in the region.

Dvorak was notified earlier this month that she was invited to the national camp. The camp will be held Jan. 24-29 in Tampa, Florida.

Dvorak played on the Golden Bears junior varsity team this past season and is the keeper for United’s 2004 girls team.
