HARLEM — Lyle Faulkinberry, who coached the Harlem wrestling team from 1987 until 2015, is returning to the Wildcats as head coach.

Faulkinberry, the AD at Harlem, retired at the conclusion of the 2015 state wrestling tournament, concluding a 28-year run. He will succeed Joe Shupe, who is retiring from teaching and as head wrestling coach after guiding the Wildcat wrestlers for four seasons.

Faulkinberry, a Three Forks native, coached seven state champions and 43 state placers during his first stint in Harlem.

Shupe, a Great Falls native, was an assistant for 25 years at Harlem before becoming head coach.
