Kaufman named Bulls captain

Brian Kaufman, the Billings Bulls' leading scorer last year, has been named the team's captain for the 2003-04 season, the club has announced.

Kaufman, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound native of Shoreview, Minn., scored 23 goals and added 29 assists for 52 points in 54 games a year ago. He has two goals, two assists and eight penalty minutes through four games this season.

"Brian has a great work ethic both on and off the ice and we are confident he'll do a great job leading all of our first-year Junior players," Bulls coach Mike Aikens said. "Brian is the epitome of what the Billings Bulls stand for."

Matt Palmer, a third-year defenseman, and first-year forward Anthony Cosmano will serve as the team's assistant captains.
