MISSOULA - University of Montana women's basketball coach Robin Selvig has announced the signing of athletes from Idaho and Washington state.
Joining the Lady Griz next year are Katie Baker of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Kenzie De Boer of Lynden, Wash., and Alyssa Smith of Monroe, Wash.
Baker, a 6-foot forward, plays basketball at Lake City High. She averaged 18.3 points. 9.8 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.1 blocks per game as a junior, and was named Idaho's Gatorade player of the year for a second straight year.
De Boer, a 5-11 wing player, has been a member of a Lynden Christian School team that has won 79 games in the past three years, including a 29-0 record and a state title last winter. She averaged 16.3 points as a sophomore and 13 points as a junior despite being slowed by mono.
Smith, a 6-foot forward at Archbishop Murphy High School, was named the Cascade Conference MVP after averaging 10 points and nine rebounds per game as a junior.
