DENVER - Metro State held off a late Montana State Billings rally for a 67-61 win Friday afternoon in women's basketball.
The Yellowjackets (7-3) play at Colorado State Pueblo today in a 6 p.m. game.
MSUB trailed by double digits most of the game before pulling within 63-60 with 1:06 to play after Alira Carpenter scored six straight points.
The senior from Lewistown finished with 19, including three 3-pointers.
Following a missed 3-pointer, the Yellowjackets were forced to foul in the final minute.
MSUB trailed 37-36 at halftime.
"It was a tough loss," said Kevin Woodin, the Yellowjackets head coach. "I was proud of the way we played in the second half. They continued to battle and never gave up."
Jetton Meadors added 10 points and five steals for MSUB.
Megan Sinclair paced the Roadrunners with 19 points, while Jasmine Cervantes had 11 and Sharava Selsor 10. Metro State had 15 steals in the game.
Following the game at CSU-Pueblo, MSUB begins a four-game home stand Jan. 7 against Northwest Nazarene.
