EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada - Lisa Lockhart knows drama.

The Circle native won the final round of barrel racing to win the Canadian Pro Rodeo year-end championship.

It's the second time in three years she has won the Canadian title.

Lockhart, of Oelrichs, S.D., posted a time of 15.05 seconds to win the last round Sunday afternoon. The $9,619 won allowed her to slip past Gaylene Buff, of Westwold, British Columbia, for the championship. Lockhart won the title by $3,348. Lockhart earned $55,597 at Canadian rodeos this year.

This was the first year that the Canadian Pro Rodeo determined its year-end champions by money won for the whole season.

Lockhart had entered the seven-round CFR sixth in the standings. This was her third consecutive CFR qualification.

Next for Lockhart is the National Finals Rodeo, Dec. 4-13 in Las Vegas. This is Lockhart's second straight trip to the NFR. She is currently eighth in the world barrel racing standings.

Shane Schwenke of Harlem finished fourth in the final Canadian standings for team roping headers. Dusty Hausauer, of Dickinson, N.D., won the year-end saddle bronc title.
