Montana State Billings Yellowjackets

BILLINGS — The women's golf team at Montana State Billings is sitting second behind Concordia (Ore.) University after Monday's opening round of the Yellowjacket Fall Invitational at Lake Hills Golf Club.

Concordia fashioned a 309 team score to lead the five-school event. MSUB  is second at 323.

The second round will be played Tuesday beginning at 8:30 a.m.

MSUB's Kinsey Irvin shot a 6-over 78 and is in third place overall. Teammate Tierney Messmer is in a tie for fifth at 79.

Both Irvin and Messmer are freshmen.

Cammie Decker of Concordia University is the leader at 73.

On the men's side, MSUB is third after two rounds with a 580 score at Lake Hills. Concordia leads the five-school race at 573, followed by the University of Jamestown at 576.

Garrett Woodin of MSUB is fourth individually at 1-under 143 (71-72). MSUB's Caleb Trost (74-70-144) is tied for fifth and Jayd Dion is tied for seventh (75-70-145).

Jaxson Daskalos of Concordia is leading with a 7-under 137 (66-71). Teammate Riley Killip is second at 140 (69-71).

The third and final round will be played Tuesday.
