SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Laurel’s Patrick Casey placed second in the 1,500-meter finals Saturday at the USA Track and Field National Outdoor Championships at Hornet Stadium.
Casey finished with a time of 3:38.94, just behind Leo Manzano, who won in 3:38.63. Lopez Lamong, who ran collegiately in the Big Sky Conference at Northern Arizona, tied for third with a time of 3:39.11.
Casey, a former state champion at Laurel High School, is a member of the prestigious Oregon Track Club in Eugene, Ore. He ran collegiately at both Montana State and Oklahoma.
Casey has also competed this season at the Oxy High Performance Distance Classic in Los Angeles, the IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas, and the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene.
