Dugie Denton, the paralympian archer from Joliet, lost out in the quarterfinals Sunday afternoon in the open men's individual compound event at the 2012 Summer Paralympic Games in London.

Denton lost his match 4-6 to teammate Matt Stutzman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Stutzman was ranked first going into the event and is known as the “Armless Archer.” He went on to win silver on Monday.

Denton went into the event on Friday ranked ninth and beat Kevin Evans of Canada and Marian Marecak of Slovakia.

The open men's individual compound is the only event in which Denton participated. His eyes are now set on the 2016 Paralympic Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro.
