Double Nickel Scratch Bowling Association

Stu Summers of Billings defeated Jerry Browne of Sheridan, Wyo. in the championship match of the first Double Nickel tournament on Sunday in Laurel at Fat Cat Lanes by a score of 232 to 222. With the win, Summers took home $278 while Browne pocketed $233 for his efforts.

The high qualifier of the tournament was Archie Caraveau of Forsyth with an 883 for 4 games while Summers posted the high game of 276 in qualifying.

There were 32 bowlers who participated in the tournament from Wyoming, and Montana. Those not listing hometowns are from Billings. Summers, Browne (Sheridan, Wyo.), Cliff Karagosis (Bozeman), Keith Loran, Ken Carcich (Sheridan, Wyo.), Jim Blakeley (Roberts), Archie Caraveau (Forsyth), Will Powers (Sheridan, Wyo.), Clay Buttman, John L Frank (Colstrip), Bert Stiles (Broadview), Chester Gilliam (Lovell, Wyo.), John Whitaker (Roundup), Duck Hultgren (Huntley), Randy Gerhardt (Huntley), and Doug Arneson (Laurel).

The next tournament will be held at Super Bowl in Cody Wyo. on October 21, 2012. There will be two shifts of qualifying with shift times at 9:00 AM and 11:00AM. The second shift is limited to the first 32 bowlers who sign up for the tournament. This tournament is open to all bowlers who are 55 years or older and both men and women.
