GERALDINE - Senior running back Ben Baum found the end zone four times, including twice in the fourth quarter, to lead the Mountaineers to their fourth Class C 6-Man championship in five years and 11th in school history, downing rival Geraldine 42-30 on Saturday.

Geraldine got on the board first courtesy of Lane Finlayson's nine yard touchdown pass to Stephen Rios in the first quarter. Rios added a pair of second quarter touchdowns to give the previously unbeaten Tigers a 22-14 halftime advantage. Following Royce Edwards three yard run that tied the game, Rios added his fourth and final tally of the afternoon on an 11-yard dash.

Trailing 30-28 entering the fourth quarter, quarterback Ben Walker found Baum on a 76-yard pass completion to give the Mountaineers (10-2) the lead for good at 36-30.

Baum ended the day with 181 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries for the Mountaineers, as Walker threw for 111 yards and two scores. Rios rushed 22 times for 78 yards and four touchdowns while Finlayson completed 13 of 20 passes for 144 yards and one touchdown for the Tigers (11-1).

Jake Fairbanks led the Geraldine defense with 11 tackles. Kevin Johnson, Aaron Rood and Nick Gondeiro all had 10 tackles apiece to lead Highwood.
