BOZEMAN - Montana State women's basketball coach Tricia Binford has announced the signing of five recruits.

Joining the Bobcats for the 2009-10 season are: Latisha Adams of Albuquerque, N.M.; Ashley Albert of Hamilton; Chelsea Banis of Fairfield; Kelsey Roben of Denver and Ally Schmitt of Snohomish, Wash.

Adams is a 5-foot-9 guard who averaged 16.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.3 steals and 2.7 assists at West Mesa High School.

Albert is a 6-1 forward who averaged 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots per game as a junior, earning Class A all-state honors.

Banis, a 6-3 center, helped Fairfield to the 2008 Class B state title by scoring 21 points and grabbing 17 rebounds in the championship game.

Roben is a 5-10 guard at Regis Jesuit High, which is ranked No. 6 in the nation in preseason polls. Roben ranked among the top five in 3-point field goals, assists, steals and blocked shots in the conference as a junior.

Schmitt sat out her junior season with a torn ligament in her knee.
