NAMPA, Idaho - Samantha Sandau and Mandy Ploskonka each registered a goal and an assist as the Montana State Billings women's soccer team shut out Northwest Nazarene 3-0 Thursday afternoon.
The Yellowjackets (10-9, 5-6) close out the regular season Saturday with a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match at fourth-ranked Seattle Pacific.
MSUB also defeated the Crusaders 4-0 when the teams played in Billings. NNU (1-17-1, 0-11) has not scored a goal since Oct. 4.
Sandau and Melissa Carlson helped stake the Yellowjackets to 2-0 lead with goals within the first 24 minutes of play. It was Sandau's second goal in as many games and Carlson's fourth of the season.
Ploskonka scored on a penalty kick in the second half. It was her fourth goal of the season and first penalty kick score. MSUB goal keeper Jordan Fenwick had four saves in recording her fourth shutout of the season.
This is the fourth time in seven seasons for head coach Don Trentham that his team has won 10 or more games in a season.
