NEW YORK - As many as 16 runners from Montana and 20 from Wyoming are expected to compete in today's 39th running of the New York City Marathon.
The starting field for the 26.2-mile race is expected to top 39,000 runners.
According to the marathon's Web site, the Montana contingent includes Lisa Reich and Lauren Wright of Billings.
Montana's runners will range in age from the 27-year-old Wright and Anders Brooker from Missoula to 58-year-old Tim Brooker of Plains.
Five runners are entered from Bozeman: Tony Brendgard, Kristin Drost, Sheri Hueter, Pat O'Connor and Greg Young.
Wyoming's runners will range in age from 22-year-old Christopher Detzel from Laramie to 57-year-old Ken Konicek of Pinedale, Wyo.
The marathon will be televised at 1 p.m. today on NBC.
