Rocky Mountain College freshman Amber Watson qualified for a NAIA national cross country championship berth, according to coach Alan King.
To qualify, Watson had to finish as one of the top-two individuals on conference not on a nationally rated team. Watson finished third at the Hell's Gate State Park Meet on Saturday, but had to wait until all the results of all the conference meets were posted.
The Rocky women's team finished second in the conference with the men placing fourth.
This is only the second year for the cross country program at Rocky.
The NAIA national cross country championships will be held Nov. 22 in Kenosha, Wis.
