NEW YORK — Jess Lockwood leads the Professional Bull Riders event in New York City after two full rounds.
The event, the first of 2019, concludes Sunday. It is a PBR major with the winner earning $100,000.
Lockwood went 86.5 points on Saturday to earn a share of fourth place and $2,000. He tied for first in the first round on Friday night. The 2017 PBR World champion from Volborg is 174.75 points for two rides.
Lockwood won New York in 2017.
Stetson Lawrence and Emilio Resende shared first place Saturday night, both posting scores of 87.25 points.
Matt Triplett of Kalispell was bucked off in the second round.
