KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Team ropers Dustin Bird and Chase Tryan, along with barrel racer Shelly Anzick got off to fast starts in the first performance of the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo on Thursday.

The first round continues with Friday's performance.

Bird of Cut Bank, and Tryan, of Helena, posted the fastest time with a 5.8-second run. The pair roped together in 2005.

Anzick, of Shepherd took the top spot on the leader board with a time of 15.45 seconds.

Beau Clark, formerly of Belgrade, was fourth in steer wrestling with a time of 4.3 seconds. The former Montana State football player now lives in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and won the Mountain States Circuit year-end title.

The event features the 2017 year-end and Finals champions from 12 PRCA circuits across the United States.
