GREAT FALLS -- Tyler Nelson of Idaho won his second straight bareback round at the Montana Pro Rodeo Circuit Finals Saturday night.
The MPRC Finals, which determines the 2011 year-end champions, concludes Sunday at Four Seasons Arena with a 2 p.m. performance. The year-end and Finals champions qualify for the Ram National Circuit Finals Rodeo later this spring in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Nelson's first round win wasn't official until Chase Erickson's Saturday re-ride. Nelson won the first round with 81 points and was 82 on Saturday.
Other Saturday round winners were: Shawn Bessette and Shane Bessette, team roping; Bryant Mikkelson, steer wrestling; Tyrell Smith, saddle bronc; Chad Johnson, tie-down roping; Chloe Hoovestal, barrel racing; Beau Hill, bull riding.
Hill and Brett Crump were the bull riders to post qualified rides. Hill was 86 points for the win. There were also just four qualified rides in saddle bronc riding.
