LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) – Former Wyoming track and field athlete Davina Strauss has been named Wyoming’s 2001 NCAA Woman of the Year.

The award honors seniors for their achievements in service, leadership, athletics and academics.

Strauss earned six letter awards in indoor and outdoor track at the University of Wyoming. This past season she finished third in long jump at the Mountain West Conference championships.

That earned her all-conference honors.

An excellent student, she was an all-conference and scholar athlete three times. She earned her degree in exercise and sport science with an emphasis in human nutrition and food.
