MISSOULA The University of Montana has partnered with Internet service provider SnapWave Communications to provide Internet service to its athletic department and fans and raise money for the school.
The service costs $19.95 per month, $3 of which is paid to UMs athletic department to support its programs. Fans also can pay $220 for an annual subscription and get one month free.
Subscribers can have up to five e-mail addresses using the montanagrizzlies.com domain name. They also receive five megabytes of space for personal Web pages, and the service has instant messaging.
Subscribers also will receive a CD-ROM that includes Grizzly video highlights, schedules and media guides each season.

Moats said UM is the first university to partner with SnapWave. Rice University in Texas has also signed up and a dozen other schools are looking at the offer.
