Low temperature in Billings last night was 28 degrees, 3 degrees below the old record of 31. Relief from the chill is on the way, but probably not until after another record low temperatures tonight.
In Billings, an overnight low of 32 degrees is forecast. But, by Friday afternoon, temperatures could reach a balmy 63 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent for Friday afternoon showers.
Today, Southcentral Montana can expect occasional snow during the morning. A high of 49 degrees is forecast for Billings this afternoon. Wind will be from the west at 5 to 15 mph.
During the 24-hour period that ended at 6 Thursday morning, Billings received .05 inches of moisture.
Other areas of Eastern Montana did a lot better, especially Miles City where .85 inches of precipitation was recorded. Bozeman also did pretty well with .50 inches. Glasgow picked up .47 inches, and Havre got .43 inches.

Slushy roads and high winds were reported around the Lewistown area this morning. High winds seemed to be general from south of Roundup north to the Missouri River and in the Harlowton-Lewistown area.
Slush was also reported in the Livingston area with some blowing and drifting snow.
