Montana and Wyoming forecast

Billings Area: Unseasonably mild temperatures and breezy conditions for today and Monday. It will also be dry through at least Tuesday. The middle to end of the week will be cooler with a chance of scattered snow showers.

Montana: It will be a very nice Christmas Day in central and eastern Montana. Conditions will be very mild and dry. However, western Montana will be cool and cloudy with areas of light rain and snow showers. Rain and snow showers will continue in the west on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Wyoming: High pressure will make for beautiful and warm weather this Christmas Day. Record high temperatures are possible. Monday will be a good travel day and still very mild. Snow showers will start to return to the western mountains on Monday. Snow showers are likely in the mountains Tuesday with a few inches of fresh snow possible. A few rain and snow showers are also possible on Tuesday at lower elevations.

Yellowstone: Mostly cloudy today with a touch of Christmas snow possible. A better chance of snow will start to develop on Monday. Small accumulations of new snow will be possible tomorrow, and again on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Big Horn Canyon: Mild and breezy today and Monday. Temperatures will be a good 10 to 15 degrees above normal. Mostly dry weather will also hold through late Monday. Plan on scattered showers by Tuesday and Wednesday.
