Spring snow storm makes driving dangerous

Don't drive anywhere if you can avoid it - and bundle up.

A winter storm warning remains in effect until 11 a.m.

Roads in every direction out of Billings are either snowcovered or snowpacked and icy. Some blowing and drifting is reported.

Billings streets aren't in prime condition, either. Police are responding to many wrecks, including a multiple-car pileup near Zoo Drive just before 7 a.m.

Billings is buried in 5 inches of snow this morning and could get up to 3 more today. High will be about 25 degrees, with winds from the northeast at 10 to 20 mph.

Chance of snow decreases to about 60 percent tonight. Snowfall will be an inch or less. Overnight low will be about 15 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday will be a big improvement, with a 20 percent chance of snow and a high of 38 degrees. Skies will be partly cloudy, and winds will be from the southwest at 5 mph.

In the 24 hours that ended at 5 this morning, Billings received .25 inches of precipitation.
