The scent of summer is in the air for Memorial Day weekend in the Billings area.
Today's high should reach into the upper 70s with light south winds that will increase to 5 to 10 mph under partly cloudy skies. Overnight lows should dip to the mid-50s, according to the National Weather Service.
On Saturday, highs in the mid-80s are forecast with east winds of 5 to 15 mph. If the weather remains sunny and dry, the waterslides at Rose Park should open at noon.
Saturday night's low is forecast to be in the mid-50s under partly cloudy skies.
On Sunday, the chance of showers and thunderstorms rises to 30 percent in the afternoon, but highs may again climb into the mid-80s, with lows in the mid-50s that night.
A mostly cloudy Memorial Day is forecast with mostly cloudy skies, a chance of thunderstorms or showers and highs dropping into the upper 70s. The partly cloudy skies are expected to continue Tuesday through Thursday, with lows in the lower 50s and highs from mid-70s to about 80.
Mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 70s or lower 80s are forecast for much of southcentral and southeastern Montana for today and Saturday.
