Billings and surrounding areas
Billings Area: Showers and thunderstorms are likely for today and tonight with scattered showers and thunderstorms continuing into Saturday. A weak cold front will also be producing very cool temperatures for today and Saturday. All in all today and tomorrow will not be very nice but Mother's Day will not be as cool or damp.
Montana: Southern and eastern areas of the state will have widespread showers and thunderstorms for today and tonight. Snow showers are likely at the higher elevations with snow showers even possible at many lower areas during the night. Scattered showers are likely elsewhere in the state for today with conditions starting to dry out for this weekend.
Wyoming: The cool, damp weather pattern will keep a tight grip on the region through today into early Sunday, although showers will become more isolated as we head toward the end of the weekend. With a cool to cold air mass in place, high temperatures will struggle to get out of the 40s with overnight lows near the freezing mark. Rain mixing with snow is still a good bet especially in the High Country.
Yellowstone: Snow is likely for most of today and tonight. Periods of moderate to heavy snow will be possible. Snow showers continue into Saturday with Sunday expected to be mostly dry.
Bighorn Canyon: Today will again be wet and cool. Rain and snow showers are likely and scattered rain and snow showers will last into Saturday. A few showers will linger into Sunday but for the most part conditions will be mostly dry on Mother's Day.
