Billings and surrounding areas
Billings Area: A weak upper level weather disturbance will bring brisk winds to the region throughout the day, with only the slightest chance for a gusty thunderstorm or two. On the Fourth of July and into Saturday, temperatures will continue to be mild to warm with plenty of sun and breezy conditions expected.
Montana: A weather disturbance passing across the state's northern border will help to bring our temperatures down a few degrees through the Fourth of July. The incoming air mass accompanying this system is rather dr, making for more wind than anything. However, it could help spark an isolated gusty thunderstorm today. Friday looks dry and breezy.
Wyoming: More sunshine and heat are expected for majority of the state today. Far northern and north-central zones are likely to be a touch cooler, but precipitation development will be kept at bay across the state for most of the day. The cool front will dip into southern zones by Friday, taking the edge off the heat and possibly triggering a few afternoon thunderstorms across the southeast.
Yellowstone: Temperatures will slip by a few degrees today as a weather disturbance moves through Montana, but they will still be very mild and top out mainly in the 70s. Sunny skies will be the order of the day which will continue through the Fourth of July with only a chance for a gusty thunderstorm or two.
Bighorn Canyon: The sunny skies will continue through today and into the Fourth of July with a slight cooling trend. However, it will still be very warm to hot with highs in the 80s.
