~A Classical Academy~
Who we are
Established in 2007, Mount Olive Lughtern School is a Classical Academy. Classical education is based on the Trivium, a tried and tested approach to learning as opposed to educational fads that sweep in and out. It is a proven approach to learning through the progression of
knowledge (grammar)
understanding (logic) and
wisdom (rhetoric), as applied to academics
Classical education embraces the whole range of human knowledge and since it is developmental, there can be no single classical teaching method, as the approach necessarily changes according to the subject matter.
Christian Foundation
The Holy Scriptures are the only source for Christian faith, Jesus Christ as the center and focus of hte Holy Scriptures permeates ithe classical Lutheran education.
Dr. Martin Luther's Small Catechism is taught in all grades.
Christian liturgy and hmns are an ongoing source of trianing the mind and life of teachers and students.
