Many people work out to improve the muscle tone in their arms, legs, abdomen and glutes. Now imagine being able to achieve the same results for your face.
Central Wellness in Billings is the first wellness and aesthetics-dedicated facility in Montana to offer EmFace, a revolutionary new laser treatment designed to lift, tone and tighten facial muscles without needles or surgery.
“EmFace was just introduced last fall,” says Central Wellness owner Janine Griffin. “It’s a really interesting procedure that uses high-intensity facial electromagnetic stimulation (HIFES) technology, which contracts the facial muscles for natural facial contouring and increased muscle density. Synchronized radio frequency (RF) energy is used to heat the skin which stimulates collagen and elastin.”
“One of the two main causes of aging is sun exposure, which leads to the destruction of collagen. In fact, sun damage is attributed to 93% of fine lines and wrinkles we find on our face. In our late 20’s, collagen and elastin production starts to decline. By the time we close the gap at age 40, we start to show signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles, jowls and saggy skin. The second cause aging is the loss of facial muscle tone,” Griffin says.
Many people are apprehensive about trying cosmetic procedures as they are afraid of looking unnatural. EmFace is an all-natural way to rebuild collagen and contour the face.
During a 20-minute EmFace procedure, a medical provider places pads on the cheeks and across the forehead. These pads emit heat that feels a lot like a hot stone massage, and the pad also pulsates, which causes the muscles to contract over 10,000 times. Griffin describes, “It isn’t painful. The contractions it makes you cannot control, the sensations can feel a bit strange.”
“On average, clients will see a 37% reduction in wrinkles, 23% improved lift, and 30% increase in muscle tone after one treatment series,” Griffin notes.
The typical EmFace series consists of four or five treatments, one per week with recommended maintenance sessions once or twice a year depending on the client and their desired goals.
Some clients may experience temporary skin redness after an EmFace treatment, but otherwise, there aren’t really any side effects. Contraindications are metal implants in the face, as this is an electromagnetic current that is used to elevate and lift facial tissue.
Griffin touts, “EmFace is a game changer in non-invasive cosmetic procedures and an alternative to facelifts and plastic surgery. Coupling EmFace with a collagen stimulator such as Sculptra can supercharge the production of Collagen type 1.
“It is safe for all skin types,” Griffin says. “It creates lift, reduces fine lines, and restores volume by improving the muscle tone in your face, and that is a good thing to do at any age.”
Central Wellness clients can rest assured the medical providers on staff are thoroughly trained in how to operate the EmFace technology.
