Laminates and luxury vinyl
Miller said luxury vinyl plank, luxury vinyl tile and laminate flooring are highly sought after for home remodeling and new construction flooring because they are durable and require less maintenance.
“These durable flooring types can sustain high activity from dogs, cats and the kids,” Miller said.
Carpet
Trends for carpeting include tonal — or fibers with subtle color variations — and textured and thicker plush carpets, which offer fresh choices, while reinvented carpet patterns are returning.
Carpet is an acoustic barrier, softening noise better than rooms with all hard flooring, Miller explained. “And textile products are warm, soft and cozy,” he said.
Taupe — a neutral dark gray-brown color — along with other neutral colors like tan and beige, remain strong for 2024.
Stylish tile
Old farmhouse white and blue is big for tile, and Miller said requests remain strong for black and white mosaic tile.
“Bold tile patterns in laundry rooms and multi-style floral or stained glass patterns on floors are really big right now, too,” Miller said.
Large-format tile — 2-by-4-foot and larger — remains a popular request from flooring customers. Larger format subway tile and porcelain accent tile are strong, too.
Today’s tile projects are easy to clean and maintain with Rich’s Modern Flooring acrylic grout installation products. More colorfast than earlier generations, acrylic grouts offer better stain, mold and mildew resistance.
