Show us your one-shot success. Fish, Wildlife & Parks is reviving its One-Shot Hunter Program. The program initially was created to encourage hunters to practice thoughtful, accurate shooting while highlighting one of the core principles of firearm safety: Know your target and what lies beyond it.
Today, the program continues that mission by promoting ethical hunting and responsible shot placement. While making a clean, one-shot harvest is always the goal, the heart of the program is about safety first. This includes taking the time to identify your target, understanding your surroundings and making a well-considered shot. These actions are essential to a safe and enjoyable hunting experience.
All you have to do to be part of the program this year is to be safe, shoot well and capture great photos of your season. When you share your story and pictures with us, we’ll send you a One-Shot Hunter Program hat for taking part.
When you share your experience, you’re sharing the program’s message of safety first.
Please email your story and photos to FWP outdoor skills program manager Francis Reishus, francis.reishus@mt.gov.
